Safety Precautions for your Eco Jet
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR YOUR
SUNBEAM ECO JET.
• The Sunbeam Eco Jet is intended for domestic
household use only.
• Should calcification occur, the white ‘halo’
effect can be removed using a decalcifying
product or with a few drops of vinegar applied
directly to the area.
• Do not direct the steam jet toward people or
pets as this could be harmful.
• Only use the attachments supplied with the
Eco Jet. Others may cause hazards.
• Do not direct steam toward equipment
containing electrical components, such as
the interior of ovens. It could damage the
equipment and may cause serious injury.
• Always check the manufacturer's care and
cleaning instructions before using the Eco Jet
to clean fabrics, soft furnishings and other
surfaces, where possible.
• Always unplug the Eco Jet from the power
outlet when filling the tank with water.
• Do not add detergents, chemicals, aromatic
products, or solutions of any kind when filling
with water as this may damage the Eco Jet or
make it unsafe for use.
• Do not exceed the maximum water level
(300ml) as the unit may fail to operate
effectively. The tank may overflow and boiling
water may be emitted from the nozzle instead
of steam.
• Do not use the utility head on any surface
without the cloth or squeegee fitted as it may
damage or scratch the surface.
• Do not touch the surface of the Eco Jet or the
attachments during or immediately after use
as these parts will be hot. Allow to cool before
handling.
• Do not tilt the Eco Jet more than 45 degrees
from the horizontal or turn it upside down
during or immediately after use. Boiling water
could come out of the nozzle.
• Allow the Eco Jet to cool completely before
storing.
• Do not open the water tank cap during or
immediately after use, as there is a danger
of scalding. Follow the instructions to expel
any remaining steam. Allow the unit to cool
completely before opening.

Using your Eco Jet
Before first use
Remove any packaging or marketing materials
that may be attached to the Eco Jet.
3.Direct the Eco Jet at the desired surface
and depress the steam trigger on the
handle.
4.Slowly move the Eco Jet back and forth
over the surface to be cleaned. To remove
stubborn stains, hold the unit over the area
for several seconds.
Partially fill and then empty the water tank to
remove any foreign particles that may remain
in the tank following the manufacturing
process.
5.Once you have finished cleaning the
desired area remove the plug from the
power outlet.
6.Allow the unit to cool completely before
storing.
Caution: Do not tilt the Eco Jet more than 45
degrees from the horizontal or turn it upside
down during or immediately after use. Boiling
water could come out of the nozzle instead of
steam.
Note: When turned on for the first time, your
new Eco Jet may drip a small amount of
water when initially producing steam. This is
normal and will not reoccur.
Filling the Eco Jet with water
Before filling with water, ensure that the
power cord is removed from the power
outlet.
1.Position the unit on a stable surface and
remove the water tank cap.
2.Slowly fill with 300ml of clean tap water
using the jug and funnel provided. Measure
using the 150ml mark on the side of the
measuring jug. Repeat.
Filling the Eco Jet during use
Do not unscrew the water tank cap until the
following steps have been followed.
1.Unplug the power cord form the outlet.
3.Replace the cap and tighten.
2.Remove any remaining steam from the
water tank by depressing the steam trigger
until the tank is completely empty.
3.Partially unscrew the water tank cap,
waiting five minutes for any remaining
steam to escape and to allow the unit to
cool down. Proceed to completely unscrew
the cap.
Note: Do not exceed the maximum water
level (300ml) as the unit may fail to operate
effectively. The tank may overflow and boiling
water may be emitted from the nozzle instead
of steam.
Using the Eco Jet
Ensure the unit is unplugged from the power
outlet before fitting or changing attachments.
1.Fit the desired attachment following the
instructions on page 9.
2.Insert the plug into a 230/240V power
outlet and turn the power on. The light
near the base of the unit will illuminate,
indicating that the steam boiler is heating.
Once the light goes out (approx. 3 - 4
minutes), the Eco Jet has reached the
optimum temperature for producing steam
and is ready to use.
4.Carefully empty any remaining water from
the water tank.
Caution: Water will be extermely hot.
Note: Always ensure that the water tank is
completely empty before refilling the Eco
Jet to avoid overfilling. Do not exceed the
maximum water level.

before removing the cloth to rinse, wring
out and replace. Alternatively replace with a
clean, dry cloth.
Before removing any attachment, ensure the
plug is disconnected from the power outlet.
Always allow the unit and the attachment to
cool completely before handling.
Fitting the standard nozzle
1.Attach the standard nozzle to the Eco
Jet by pushing it onto the steam outlet,
aligning the arrow engraved on the
attachment with the join line above the
steam outlet. Turn the attachment in the
direction of the arrow until it locks into
place and the arrow on the attachment
aligns with the double line marked on the

aligns with the double line marked on the
side of the steam outlet.
4.To remove the squeegee from the utility
head lift the clip on the top of the
squeegee up and pull away from the
utility head.
Fitting the utility head and fabric cloth
1.Fit the fabric cloth to the utility head by
stretching the elasticised cloth over it,
ensuring it is evenly fitted and quite snug.

cloth attached as this may cause damage to
surfaces.
2.Attach the utility head with cloth to the
Eco Jet by pushing it onto the steam
outlet aligning the arrow engraved on the
attachment with the join line above the
steam outlet. Turn the attachment in the
direction of the arrow until it locks into

to completely unscrew the cap.
4.Carefully empty any remaining water from
the water tank by turning it upside down
above a sink or outdoors.
Cleaning the Eco Jet exterior
To clean the exterior of the unit, wipe it over
